Brian has appeared before state and federal courts and has experience in all phases of litigation, including initiating complaints, briefing extensive successful pre-and post-trial motions, managing discovery teams, working with expert witnesses, and deposing and defending witnesses.

Brian is well-versed in supporting individuals who have been wronged, injured, or taken advantage of or mistreated in an unlawful manner. His philosophy is that clients deserve more than an expert in a subject matter but rather someone who takes the time to become an expert in their case. Brian’s creativity and ability to comprehend and approach complex issues allow him to communicate persuasively in a straight-forward manner. With a calm and diplomatic style, Brian fights hard for his clients while maintaining reasoned composure.

In addition, Brian also oversees the core operations of all civil litigation and the firm’s corporate and business law practice, in which he provides adept and diverse litigation and general counsel services, as well as specific services such as corporate structuring from inception to initial operations, joint-venture-agreements, corporate governance and compliance, and regulatory review and preparation.

Brian’s diverse background founding and managing a successful civil litigation law firm, working in-house at public and private enterprises, clerking for the Securities and Exchange Commission, and enables him to address a wide range of client matters. This foundation empowers his clients and promotes the successful and lawful operations of businesses, to effectively monetize, and if necessary pursue claims forcefully, expeditiously, and with the overall long-term well-being of his client’s interest at mind given the client’s current life situation.

After law school, Brian served as a financial service broker at Aon, an international insurance brokerage, where he brokered hundreds of millions of dollars of management liability lines on behalf of publicly traded companies. Brian’s clients included biotech, technology, and healthcare companies, as well as many of the Fortune 500 companies located in the Bay Area. Mr. Heit’s formal education, along with his experience with large corporate companies and various private enterprises, allows him to implement business theories to the legal issues facing a business, which not only creates value but also can protect a venture from unnecessary risk and loss.

Brian’s corporate law practice is well suited for clients who would prefer a personal touch. As outside-general-counsel, Brian guides his clients on day-to-day dealings in regards to corporate governance, licensing, manufacturing and distribution agreements, employment contracts, and other business contracts. His clients range from smaller startups and family-owned businesses and investors to private middle-market companies and publicly traded companies.
